Discover How Xeomin® Can Work Wonders For Your Skin!

A new treatment for fine lines and wrinkles is available in Renton, WA. Xeomin® is a safe and effective way to treat a variety of aesthetic concerns associated with the effects of aging.

What Is Xeomin®?

Xeomin® is a Botox alternative that reduces wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth, forehead, eyes, and between the eyebrows. Like Botox, Xeomin® is a neurotoxin (botulinum toxin type A) that temporarily paralyzes muscles to soften certain facial expressions. Xeomin® is a prescription medication injected into the muscles to cause less movement thus reducing lines. Xeomin® is similar to both Botox and Dysport with one major difference. Xeomin® is twice filtered to remove proteins and impurities, which some plastic surgeons believe may pose long-term risks and desensitization.

What Xeomin® Treats

Xeomin®, which is now available at our office in Renton, WA, is used to treat a number of age-related concerns with natural-looking results. These include:

      • Forehead wrinkles. Nothing ages a face quite like forehead wrinkles, which can pop up as early as your 20s. These horizontal lines also cause you to have an everlasting scowl that many call RBF! Xeomin® is injected into the frontalis muscles to soften these lines to give your face a natural, relaxed look.

        • Crow’s feet. If you notice your eyes looking a little bit older every time you smile, Xeomin® can help reduce these wrinkles, known as crow’s feet. Injections around the eyes can also relax your gaze to reduce squinting.

          • Lateral eyebrows. When you want a more open appearance around the upper eyelid, Xeomin® can help. Many know this as an eyebrow lift. Schedule a Xeomin® consultation today in our Renton, WA, office, and let us show you how quick and easy these injections really are!

            • Vertical lip lines. Vertical lip lines are common among smokers, but they can also make their way to your face in your 30s. As your body’s natural stores of collagen and elastin decrease, your lips may look like they are in a perpetual pucker. Xeomin® relaxes the muscles around your upper and lower lips so that your face looks youthful and refreshed.

            • 11’s:  The muscles causing the vertical lines inbetween the brows are a very popular place to treat with Xeomin®.  Many clients feel they appear happier and some even say it lessens headaches.

            • Bunny lines: The lines that form at the top of our nose are caused by movement of the upper nasal muscles creating creases in this area. By injecting a small amount of Xeomin® in this area it will lessen the movement that cause the creases in this area.

            • Lower face: Many clients love getting Xeomin® to the corners of the mouth to help lessen the corners of the mouth pull down.  This is great pairing with relaxing the chin muscles also known as “cobblestone chin”.  Treating both of these areas together give the mouth, chin and lower face a happy smooth appearance.

            • Masseters: Treating the masseters is beneficial in two ways!  First it lessens the clenching of the muscles involved with the TMJ (temporal mandibular joint).  Many find such relief especially if they suffer with TMD (temporal mandibular disorder).  Secondly,  treating the masseters and lessening the strength also “debulks” this area and lessens a square jaw creating a more heart shaped appearance to the lower face.

In addition to the above, Xeomin® has also shown promise in helping reduce a gummy smile, downturned mouth, neck wrinkles, and more. Further, if you suffer from eye twitching (blepharospasm), Xeomin® can help reduce this uncontrolled movement.

          Side Effects

Side effects are rare, but it’s always a good idea to know what to expect. Xeomin® can cause localized swelling and minor bruising at the injection site. Headache, muscle weakness, allergic reaction, and blurred vision are also possible.

          How Long Does Xeomin® Last?

A typical Xeomin® injection series takes between 10 and 20 minutes. While you may begin to see a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles within days, it can take up to 14 days for full results to show. The average person can expect Xeomin® to work for about three months, although you may experience shorter or longer results depending on your anatomy.

          Is Xeomin® Right For You?

Xeomin® may be an excellent alternative to Botox for people in the Renton, WA, area who are not allergic to any of the ingredients in Xeomin® and that want to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without downtime.
